Misconduct and Plagiarism

Journal of Hydroecological Systems, Fisheries and Sustainability maintains a strict policy against academic misconduct and plagiarism. The journal is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record and ensuring ethical research practices.

Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Copying text, data, or ideas without proper citation

  • Submitting another person’s work as one’s own

  • Self-plagiarism or duplicate publication

  • Improper paraphrasing without acknowledgment

All submitted manuscripts are screened using plagiarism detection software. Manuscripts with significant similarity to previously published work may be rejected at the editorial stage.


Research Misconduct

Research misconduct includes:

  • Data fabrication

  • Data falsification

  • Image manipulation

  • Citation manipulation

  • Undisclosed conflicts of interest

  • Duplicate submission

Any suspicion of misconduct will be investigated in accordance with the journal’s ethical procedures.


Investigation and Actions

If misconduct is identified before publication, the manuscript will be rejected.

If misconduct is identified after publication, the journal may take appropriate corrective action, including:

  • Issuing corrections

  • Publishing expressions of concern

  • Retracting the article

  • Notifying the authors’ affiliated institutions
